11 The Committee on Health Care (Pruitt) recommended the
12 following amendment:

14 Senate Amendment (with title amendment)
15 On page 1, line 28, through
16 page 2, line 13, delete those lines
17
18 and insert:
19 (2) A public school may not deny any student access to
20 programs or services because the parent of the student has
21 refused to place the student on psychotropic medication.
22 (3) A public school teacher and school district
23 personnel may share school-based observations of a student's
24 academic, functional, and behavioral performance with the
25 student's parent and offer program options and other
26 assistance that is available to the parent and the student
27 based on the observations. However, a public school teacher
28 and school district personnel may not compel or attempt to
29 compel any specific actions by the parent or require that a
30 student take medication. A parent may refuse psychological
31 screening of the student.
