  1                      A bill to be entitled

  2         An act relating to the Self-storage Facility

  3         Act; amending s. 83.803, F.S.; including

  4         smaller units within the definition of the term

  5         "self-contained storage unit"; providing an

  6         effective date.

  8  Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida:

  9  

10         Section 1.  Subsection (2) of section 83.803, Florida

11  Statutes, is amended to read:

12         83.803  Definitions.--As used in ss. 83.801-83.809:

13         (2)  "Self-contained storage unit" means any unit not

14  less than 200 600 cubic feet in size, including, but not

15  limited to, a trailer, box, or other shipping container, which

16  is leased by a tenant primarily for use as storage space

17  whether the unit is located at a facility owned or operated by

18  the owner or at another location designated by the tenant.

19         Section 2.  This act shall take effect July 1, 2005.

22                          SENATE SUMMARY

23    Decreases the size of the self-contained unit that is
      subject to the Self-storage Facility Act from 600 to 200
24    cubic feet.
