  1                      A bill to be entitled

  2         An act relating to the City of Daytona Beach,

  3         Volusia County; amending ch. 2001-316, Laws of

  4         Florida; clarifying that specified provisions

  5         of the act do not preclude the City of Daytona

  6         Beach from subleasing submerged lands leased

  7         from the state; providing an effective date.

  8  

  9  Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida:

10  

11         Section 1.  Section 16 of chapter 2001-316, Laws of

12  Florida, is amended to read:

13         Section 16.  The lease shall not be amended, modified,

14  assigned, or otherwise transferred without further legislative

15  action. However, nothing in this section or section 6

16  precludes the lessee from subleasing the submerged lands

17  described in section 1. All provisions and restrictions within

18  or required by the statutory lease of May 25, 2001, shall

19  remain in full force and effect.

20         Section 2.  This act shall take effect upon becoming a

21  law.
