11  The Committee on Children and Families (Campbell) recommended
12  the following amendment:
13  
14         Senate Amendment (with title amendment) 
15         On page 35, between lines 2 and 3,
16  
17  and insert:  
18         Section 17.  Effective December 1, 2005, paragraph (e)
19  is added to subsection (1) of section 382.016, Florida
20  Statutes, to read:
21         382.016  Amendment of records.--The department, upon
22  receipt of the fee prescribed in s. 382.0255; documentary
23  evidence, as specified by rule, of any misstatement, error, or
24  omission occurring in any birth, death, or fetal death record;
25  and an affidavit setting forth the changes to be made, shall
26  amend or replace the original certificate as necessary.
27         (1)  CERTIFICATE OF LIVE BIRTH AMENDMENT.--
28         (e)  The Department of Revenue shall develop written
29  educational materials for use and distribution by the
30  Department of Children and Family Services, the Department of
31  Corrections, the Department of Education, the Department of

 1  Health, and the Department of Juvenile Justice which describe
 2  how to establish paternity and the benefits gained by
 3  establishing paternity. Each department shall make the
 4  materials available to individuals to whom services are
 5  provided and are encouraged to provide additional education
 6  concerning how to establish paternity and the benefits gained
 7  by establishing paternity.
