  1              Senate Concurrent Resolution No. 2024

  2         A concurrent resolution providing that Joint

  3         Rule 1 of the Joint Rules of the Legislature,

  4         relating to legislative lobbying, is superseded

  5         by the provisions of Committee Substitute for

  6         Senate Bill 2646 to the extent that such Joint

  7         Rule conflicts with or is inconsistent with the

  8         provisions of Committee Substitute for Senate

  9         Bill 2646, as enacted by the Legislature;

10         authorizing technical and stylistic changes to

11         conform the Joint Rules of the Legislature;

12         providing for publication in the journals of

13         the respective houses of the Legislature.

15  Be It Resolved by the Senate of the State of Florida, the

16  House of Representatives Concurring:

18         That, effective January 1, 2006, Joint Rule 1 of the

19  Joint Rules of the Legislature, relating to legislative

20  lobbyist registration and reporting, is superseded by and

21  amended to conform to the provisions of Committee Substitute

22  for Senate Bill 2646 to the extent that such Joint Rule

23  conflicts with or is inconsistent with Committee Substitute

24  for Senate Bill 2646, as enacted by the Legislature. Joint

25  Rule 1, as created herein, shall remain in effect until

26  amended by the Legislature.

27         BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary of the Senate

28  and the Clerk of the House of Representatives are authorized

29  and directed to make technical and stylistic changes to

30  conform the Joint Rules of the Legislature to the provisions

31  of this Concurrent Resolution and to publish the same in the

 2  Representatives no later than January 1, 2006.

 4          STATEMENT OF SUBSTANTIAL CHANGES CONTAINED IN
                       COMMITTEE SUBSTITUTE FOR
 5                Senate Concurrent Resolution 2024

 6                                 

 7  The Committee Substitute differs from the original bill in
    that it:  amends Joint Rule 1 of the Legislature, relating to
 8  lobbyist registration and reporting, to conform to Committee
    Substitute for Senate Bill 2646 (Lobbying Disclosure Act) to
 9  the extent that the Joint Rules are inconsistent with or
    conflict with CS/SB 2646 as passed by the Legislature; directs
10  the Senate Secretary and House Clerk to make technical changes
    to conform the Joint Rules and publish changes by January 1,
11  2006.
