11 The Committee on Judiciary (Campbell) recommended the
12 following amendment:

14 Senate Amendment (with title amendment)
15 On page 75, between lines 24 and 25,
16
17 insert:
18 (8) Effective July 1, 2005, a ballot that otherwise
19 satisfies the requirements of subsection (5) shall be counted
20 even if the elector dies after mailing the ballot but before
21 election day, as long as, prior to the death of the voter, the
22 ballot was:
23 (a) Postmarked by the United States Postal Service;
24 (b) Date-stamped with a verifiable tracking number by
25 common carrier; or
26 (c) Already in the possession of the supervisor of
27 elections.
