12 following amendment:

14 Senate Amendment (with title amendment)
15 On page 117, between lines 26 and 27,

17 insert:
18 Section 62. Effective upon this act becoming a law,
19 subsection (4) of section 103.091, Florida Statutes, is
20 amended to read:
21 103.091 Political parties.--
22 (4) Any political party other than a minor political
23 party may by rule provide for the membership of its state or
24 county executive committee to be elected for 4-year terms at
25 the first primary election in each year a presidential
26 election is held; however, any such rule must allow for any
27 Florida registered elector of the party to serve as chair or
28 vice chair of the state executive committee, irrespective of
29 whether such person is a member of the state or any county
30 executive committee of the party. The terms shall commence on
31 the first day of the month following each presidential general

1 election; but the names of candidates for political party
2 offices shall not be placed on the ballot at any other
3 election. The results of such election shall be determined by
4 a plurality of the votes cast. In such event, electors
5 seeking to qualify for such office shall do so with the
6 Department of State or supervisor of elections not earlier
7 than noon of the 57th day, or later than noon of the 53rd day,
8 preceding the first primary election. The outgoing chair of
9 each county executive committee shall, within 30 days after
10 the committee members take office, hold an organizational
11 meeting of all newly elected members for the purpose of
12 electing officers. The chair of each state executive
13 committee shall, within 60 days after the committee members
14 take office, hold an organizational meeting of all newly
15 elected members for the purpose of electing officers.
