1 A bill to be entitled
2 An act relating to enterprise zones; creating
3 s. 290.0072, F.S.; authorizing Taylor County to
4 apply to the Office of Tourism, Trade, and
5 Economic Development to amend the boundaries of
6 its enterprise zone; providing requirements;
7 providing an effective date.

9 Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida:

11 Section 1. Section 290.0072, Florida Statutes, is
12 created to read:
13 290.0072 Amendment of Taylor County Enterprise Zone
14 boundary.--Notwithstanding any other law, upon recommendation
15 by Enterprise Florida, Inc., the Office of Tourism, Trade, and
16 Economic Development may approve a request to amend the
17 boundary of the Taylor County Enterprise Zone. The boundary
18 amendment authorized by this section is subject to the
19 following requirements:
20 (1) The amendment may increase the size of the rural
21 enterprise zone up to a maximum zone size of 20 square miles.
22 (2) For purposes of this section, the pervasive
23 poverty criteria may be set aside.
24 (3) The local enterprise zone development agency must
25 request the amendment from Enterprise Florida, Inc., before
26 December 31, 2005. The request must contain maps and
27 sufficient information to allow the office to determine the
28 number of noncontiguous areas and the total size of the rural
29 enterprise zone.
30 Section 2. This act shall take effect July 1, 2005.
