11 The Committee on Community Affairs (Haridopolos) recommended
12 the following amendment:

14 Senate Amendment (with title amendment)
15 On page 18, between lines 11 and 12,

17 insert:
18 Section 8. Subsection (1) of section 631.56, Florida
19 Statutes, is amended to read:
20 631.56 Board of directors.--
21 (1) The board of directors of the association shall
22 consist of not fewer less than 6 five or more than 10 nine
23 persons serving terms as established in the plan of operation.
24 The department shall approve and appoint to the board up to 9
25 persons recommended by the member insurers and one insurance
26 agent who is licensed in this state. In the event the
27 department finds that any recommended person does not meet the
28 qualifications for service on the board, the department shall
29 request the member insurers to recommend another person. Each
30 member shall serve for a 4-year term and may be reappointed.
31 Vacancies on the board shall be filled for the remaining
