  1                      A bill to be entitled

  2         An act relating to emergency management;

  3         authorizing counties and municipalities to

  4         establish a disaster assistance recovery team

  5         for the purpose of facilitating communications

  6         in the event of an emergency or natural

  7         disaster; providing requirements for the

  8         membership of a disaster assistance recovery

  9         team; providing an effective date.

11  Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida:

12  

13         Section 1.  Establishment of a disaster assistance

14  recovery team.--A county or municipality may establish a

15  disaster assistance recovery team within the county or

16  municipality for the purpose of facilitating and improving

17  communications between emergency managers and the public in

18  the event of an emergency or natural disaster. The members of

19  the disaster assistance recovery team shall include, but need

20  not be limited to, residents of the county or municipality and

21  owners of businesses that are located within the county or

22  municipality.

23         Section 2.  This act shall take effect upon becoming a

24  law.
