18 465.014 Pharmacy technician.--
19 (1) A No person other than a licensed pharmacist or
20 pharmacy intern may not engage in the practice of the
21 profession of pharmacy, except that a licensed pharmacist may
22 delegate to nonlicensed pharmacy technicians those duties,
23 tasks, and functions which do not fall within the purview of
24 s. 465.003(13). All such delegated acts must shall be
25 performed under the direct supervision of a licensed
26 pharmacist who is shall be responsible for all such acts
27 performed by persons under his or her supervision. A pharmacy
28 technician, under the supervision of a pharmacist, may
29 initiate or receive communications with a practitioner or his
30 or her agent, on behalf of a patient, regarding refill
31 authorization requests. A No licensed pharmacist may not shall

1 supervise more than one pharmacy technician unless otherwise
2 permitted by the guidelines adopted by the board. The board
3 shall establish guidelines to be followed by licensees or
4 permittees in determining the circumstances under which a
5 licensed pharmacist may supervise more than one but not more
6 than three pharmacy technicians.
7 (2) In the employ of a pharmacy engaged exclusively in
8 the dispensing of medicinal drugs or other products for
9 nonhuman use and notwithstanding the provisions of subsection
10 (1):
11 (a) A pharmacy technician may initiate or receive
12 requests for original prescriptions for nonhuman use if this
13 is done under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist.
14 (b) A licensed pharmacist may supervise not more than
15 seven pharmacy technicians in dispensing prescriptions for
16 nonhuman use.
