14         Senate Amendment (with title amendment) 
15         On page 14, line 15, through
16            page 24, line 23, delete those lines

18  and insert:  
19         1002.385  The Reading Compact Scholarships
20  Program.--There is established the Reading Compact
21  Scholarships Program, a program designed to offer students who
22  have not attained reading proficiency beyond Level 1 the tools
23  and assistance to further the students' progress in reading.
24         (1)  PURPOSE.--The purpose of the Reading Compact
25  Scholarships Program is to provide to each student who has
26  scored at Level 1 on the reading portion of the FCAT a laptop
27  computer, training by the school for the parent and student on
28  how to use the laptop computer, and individualized reading
29  tutoring for the student.
30         (2)  ELIGIBILITY.--A student who has scored at Level 1
31  on the reading portion of the FCAT may receive a Reading
