11  The Committee on Education (Bullard) recommended the following
12  amendment:

14         Senate Amendment 
15         On page 56, lines 11-15, delete those lines
16  
17  and insert:  
18         (a)  It is the intent of the Legislature that the
19  Department of Education use innovations in technology and
20  assessment to allow the Florida Comprehensive Assessment Test
21  (FCAT) to be administered no earlier than March 15 in 2006, no
22  earlier than April 1 in 2007, and no earlier than April 15 in
23  2008 and beyond. It is the intent that scores will be received
24  before the end of the school year, but scores for students in
25  grade 3 and students in grade 12 who are taking the test for
26  graduation purposes shall be returned before the end of the
27  school year. Other student scores shall be returned no later
28  than June 15 of each year.
