  1                    Senate Resolution No. ____

  2         A resolution recognizing and commending the Oak

  3         Gators Flag Football Team for winning the Let

  4         It Fly Flag Football 15 and Under National

  5         Championship.

  6  

  7         WHEREAS, the 2004 Oak Gators Flag Football Team is made

  8  up of young men who are members of the Boys and Girls Club of

  9  Lee County, Florida, and

10         WHEREAS, the players are: Jamal Rogers,

11  quarterback/defensive back; James Gant, center/defensive back;

12  Jamal Temple, running back/rusher; Ervin Kent, wide

13  receiver/defensive back; Darrius Preston, wide

14  receiver/rusher; and Quinton Pointer, wide receiver/defensive

15  back; and the coaches are: Head Coach LeDondrick Rowe and

16  Assistant Coach Torrance McCray, and

17         WHEREAS, in the 2004 flag football season the team

18  achieved an overall win-loss record of 33-0 in the Let It Fly

19  Flag Football competition, culminated by winning the Let It

20  Fly Flag Football 15 and Under National Championship

21  Tournament in Lakeland, Florida, and

22         WHEREAS, the team's accomplishment in winning the 2004

23  Let It Fly Flag Football 15 and Under National Championship

24  brings distinctive honor to the State of Florida and its

25  citizens, especially those who reside in Lee County, Florida,

26  and who are members and supporters of the Boys and Girls Club

27  of Lee County, by exemplifying the competitive excellence a

28  group of young men can attain through combining their talents

29  and disciplining themselves to work together toward achieving

30  success in playing the game of football, NOW, THEREFORE,

 1  Be It Resolved by the Senate of the State of Florida:

 2  

 3         That the 2004 Oak Gators Flag Football Team is

 4  recognized and commended for its outstanding accomplishment in

 5  winning the 2004 Let it Fly Flag Football 15 and Under

 6  National Championship.

 7         BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this resolution,

 8  with the Seal of the Senate affixed, be presented to the 2004

 9  Oak Gators Flag Football Team as a token of the sentiments of

10  the Florida Senate.
