11 The Committee on Judiciary (Webster) recommended the following
12 amendment to amendment (742998):

14 Senate Amendment (with title amendment)
15 On page 43, between lines 11 and 12,
16
17 insert: Section 18. Section 29.0081, Florida Statutes, is
18 created to read:
19 29.0081 County funding of additional court
20 personnel.--
21 (1) A county and the chief judge of a judicial circuit
22 that includes that county may enter into an agreement under
23 which the county funds personnel positions to assist in the
24 operation of the circuit.
25 (2) The agreement shall, at a minimum, provide that:
26 (a) Funding for the positions is provided on at least
27 a court fiscal-year basis;
28 (b) The personnel whose employment is funded under the
29 agreement are employees of the judicial circuit and are hired,
30 supervised, managed, and fired by personnel of the judicial
31 circuit; and

1 (c) The positions terminate upon the expiration of, or
2 substantial breach of, the agreement or upon the expiration of
3 county funding for the positions.
4 (3) Positions funded under this section shall be
5 full-time equivalent positions of the judicial circuit but
6 shall not count against any formula or similar process used by
7 the Office of the State Courts Administrator to determine
8 personnel needs or levels of a judicial circuit.
9 (4) Nothing in this section obligates the state to
10 fund any personnel positions.

16 On page 92, line 14, after the semicolon,
17
18 insert: creating s. 29.0081, F.S.; authorizing counties and
19 judicial circuits to agree to the funding of personnel
20 positions for the circuit; providing requirements for such
21 agreements; providing for the effect and limitation of such
22 agreements;
