  1                    Senate Resolution No. ____

  2         A resolution recognizing and commending Josh

  3         Raven for winning the 2004 Fitness Authority

  4         National Championship in the Boys 16-18

  5         Division.

  6  

  7         WHEREAS, Josh Raven, a Senior at Mariner High School,

  8  won the 2004 Fitness Authority National Championship in the

  9  Boys 16-18 Division at Miami, Florida, and

10         WHEREAS, Josh diligently worked out at least 4 days

11  each week at the Shady Oaks Community Center in Fort Myers

12  under the direction of Coach LeDondrick Rowe and, after

13  winning the 2004 Fitness Authority State and Regional

14  Championships in the Boys 16-18 Division, was one of 94

15  athletes to compete in the 2004 Fitness Authority National

16  Championships, and

17         WHEREAS, for his outstanding performances, Josh will

18  receive a $1,000 scholarship and an all-expense-paid trip to

19  Washington D.C. to meet the President of the United States at

20  the White House, and

21         WHEREAS, Josh's outstanding achievement demonstrates

22  the value of promoting physical education among school-age

23  children in this state and brings honor to the residents of

24  Fort Myers, Lee County, and the State of Florida, NOW,

25  THEREFORE,

27  Be It Resolved by the Senate of the State of Florida:

28  

29         That Josh Raven is recognized and commended for his

30  outstanding performances in winning the 2004 Fitness Authority

 2  Division.

 3         BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this resolution,

 4  with the Seal of the Senate affixed, be presented to Josh

 5  Raven as a tangible token of the sentiments of the Florida

 6  Senate.
