  1                      A bill to be entitled

  2         An act relating to elections; amending s.

  3         101.657, F.S.; changing the day on which early

  4         voting ends; providing an effective date.

  6  Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida:

  7  

  8         Section 1.  Paragraph (b) of subsection (1) of section

  9  101.657, Florida Statutes, is amended to read:

10         101.657  Early voting.--

11         (1)

12         (b)  Early voting shall begin on the 15th day before an

13  election and end on the Friday day before the an election. For

14  purposes of a special election held pursuant to s. 100.101,

15  early voting shall begin on the 8th day before the an election

16  and end on the Friday day before the an election. Early voting

17  shall be provided for at least 8 hours per weekday during the

18  applicable periods. Early voting shall also be provided for 8

19  hours in the aggregate for each weekend during the applicable

20  periods.

21         Section 2.  This act shall take effect upon becoming a

22  law.
