2An act relating to paperwork reduction in the school
3districts; requiring the establishment of the Paper
4Reduction Task Force and providing membership; requiring
5recommendations to minimize the paperwork burden placed on
6school districts and school district personnel; requiring
7a report to the Legislature; providing for abolishment of
8the task force; providing an effective date.

10Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida:

12     Section 1.  Paper Reduction Task Force.--
13     (1)  The Paper Reduction Task Force shall be established
14for the purpose of recommending strategies to reduce the
15paperwork required of school districts and school district
16personnel, with special emphasis given to the reduction of
17paperwork required of teachers. Recommendations shall include,
18but not be limited to, methods to improve efficiency by
19eliminating, reducing, revising, or consolidating paperwork and
20data collection requirements. The task force shall recommend
21methods to minimize the paperwork burden being placed on school
22districts and school district personnel by evaluating the need
23for information and determining whether access to necessary
24information is already available.
25     (2)  The task force shall consist of the Commissioner of
26Education, three members appointed by the President of the
27Senate, three members appointed by the Speaker of the House of
28Representatives, three members appointed by the Governor, and
29three teachers appointed by the Commissioner of Education.
30     (3)  The task force shall report its findings and
31recommendations to the President of the Senate and the Speaker
32of the House of Representatives by February 1, 2006, and shall
33be abolished upon the transmittal of this report.
34     Section 2.  This act shall take effect upon becoming a law.
