| 9 | Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida: |
| 10 |
|
| 11 | Section 1. Subsection (21) is added to section 489.503, |
| 12 | Florida Statutes, to read: |
| 13 | 489.503 Exemptions.--This part does not apply to: |
| 14 | (21) The monitoring of an alarm system by an employee of a |
| 15 | residential condominium association or a homeowners' association |
| 16 | if the alarm monitoring system: |
| 17 | (a) Is the exclusive property of, or is leased by, the |
| 18 | association. |
| 19 | (b) Complies with all applicable firesafety standards in |
| 20 | chapter 633. |
| 21 | (c) Is designed to protect only the residences and common |
| 22 | areas specific to the particular association that employs such |
| 23 | person and does not provide protection to other residential |
| 24 | condominium associations or homeowners' associations. |
| 25 | Section 2. This act shall take effect July 1, 2005. |
