  1                      A bill to be entitled

  2         An act relating to bingo games; amending s.

  3         849.0931, F.S.; authorizing the use of

  4         electronics or other technology in lieu of

  5         vocal verification for bingo games; providing

  6         an effective date.

  8  Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida:

  9  

10         Section 1.  Paragraph (g) of subsection (12) of section

11  849.0931, Florida Statutes, is amended to read:

12         849.0931  Bingo authorized; conditions for conduct;

13  permitted uses of proceeds; limitations.--

14         (12)  Each bingo game shall be conducted in accordance

15  with the following rules:

16         (g)  Numbers on the winning cards or sheets shall be

17  announced and verified in the presence of another player.  Any

18  player shall be entitled at the time the winner is determined

19  to call for a verification of numbers drawn. The verification

20  shall be in the presence of the member designated to be in

21  charge of the occasion or, if such person is also the caller,

22  in the presence of an officer of the licensee. Verification

23  may also be provided through the use of electronic or other

24  commercially available technology in lieu of vocal

25  verification. Verification by other than vocal means must be

26  confined to the premises at which the bingo session is held

27  and may not be transmitted to any other location.

28         Section 2.  This act shall take effect July 1, 2005.

 3    Authorizes the use of electronics or other technology in
      lieu of vocal verification for bingo games. Provides that
 4    use of nonvocal means of verification must be confined to
      the premises at which the bingo session is held and may
 5    not be transmitted to another location.
