11 The Committee on Justice Appropriations (Aronberg) recommended
12 the following amendment:

14 Senate Amendment (with title amendment)
15 On page 21, between lines 17 and 18,

17 insert:
18 Section 15. Subsection (5) is added to section 77.07,
19 Florida Statutes, to read:
20 77.07 Dissolution of writ.--
21 (5) If the plaintiff fails to file a dismissal or
22 motion for final judgment within 6 months after filing the
23 writ of garnishment, the writ shall automatically be dissolved
24 and the garnishee shall be discharged from further liability
25 under the writ. The plaintiff has the right to extend the writ
26 for an additional 6 months by serving the garnishee and the
27 defendant a notice of extension and filing in the underlying
28 proceeding a certification of such service.
