| 6 | An act relating to the prohibition on prostitution; |
| 7 | amending s. 796.07, F.S.; allowing a police officer to |
| 8 | testify as an offended party in an action under said |
| 9 | section; providing an effective date. |

| 11 | Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida: |
| 12 |
|
| 13 | Section 1. Subsection (3) of section 796.07, Florida |
| 14 | Statutes, is amended to read: |
| 15 | 796.07 Prohibiting prostitution, etc.; evidence; |
| 16 | penalties; definitions.-- |
| 17 | (3)(a) In the trial of a person charged with a violation |
| 18 | of this section, testimony concerning the reputation of any |
| 19 | place, structure, building, or conveyance involved in the |
| 20 | charge, testimony concerning the reputation of any person |
| 21 | residing in, operating, or frequenting such place, structure, |
| 22 | building, or conveyance, and testimony concerning the reputation |
| 23 | of the defendant is admissible in evidence in support of the |
| 24 | charge. |
| 25 | (b) Notwithstanding any other provision of law, a police |
| 26 | officer may testify as an offended party in an action regarding |
| 27 | charges filed pursuant to this section. |
| 28 | Section 2. This act shall take effect July 1, 2005. |
