11 | exemptions; providing an effective date. |

13 | Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida: |
14 |

15 | Section 1. Subsection (4) is added to section 633.702, |
16 | Florida Statutes, to read: |
17 | 633.702 Prohibited acts regarding alarm system contractors |
18 | or certified unlimited electrical contractors; penalties.-- |
19 | (4) It is a misdemeanor of the first degree, punishable as |
20 | provided in s. 775.082 or s. 775.083, for any person to |
21 | intentionally or willfully install, service, test, repair, |
22 | improve, or inspect a fire alarm system unless: |
23 | (a) The person is the holder of a valid and current active |
24 | license as a certified unlimited electrical contractor, as |
25 | defined in part II of chapter 489; |
26 | (b) The person is the holder of a valid and current active |
27 | license as a licensed fire alarm contractor, as defined in part |
28 | II of chapter 489; |
29 | (c) The person is authorized to act as a fire alarm system |
30 | agent pursuant to s. 489.5185; or |
31 | (d) The person is exempt pursuant to s. 489.503. |
32 | Section 2. This act shall take effect October 1, 2005. |
