| 7 | 464.015, Florida Statutes, are renumbered as subsections (6), |
| 8 | (7), and (8), respectively, present subsection (6) is amended, |
| 9 | and a new subsection (5) is added to said section, to read: |
| 10 | 464.015 Titles and abbreviations; restrictions; penalty.-- |
| 11 | (5) Only persons who hold valid certificates to practice |
| 12 | as certified registered nurse anesthetists in this state shall |
| 13 | have the right to use the title "Certified Registered Nurse |
| 14 | Anesthetist" and the abbreviations "C.R.N.A." or "nurse |
| 15 | anesthetist." |
| 16 | (7)(6) No person shall practice or advertise as, or assume |
| 17 | the title of, registered nurse, licensed practical nurse, |
| 18 | certified registered nurse anesthetist, or advanced registered |

| 20 | "C.R.N.A.", "nurse anesthetist," or "A.R.N.P." or take any other |
| 21 | action that would lead the public to believe that person was |
| 22 | certified as such or is performing nursing services pursuant to |
| 23 | the exception set forth in s. 464.022(8), unless that person is |
| 24 | licensed or certified to practice as such. |
| 25 | Section 13. Paragraph (a) of subsection (2) of section |
| 26 | 464.016, Florida Statutes, is amended to read: |
| 27 | 464.016 Violations and penalties.-- |
| 28 | (2) Each of the following acts constitutes a misdemeanor |
| 29 | of the first degree, punishable as provided in s. 775.082 or s. |
| 30 | 775.083: |
| 31 | (a) Using the name or title "Nurse," "Registered Nurse," |
| 32 | "Licensed Practical Nurse," "Certified Registered Nurse |
| 33 | Anesthetist," "Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner," or any |
| 34 | other name or title which implies that a person was licensed or |
| 35 | certified as same, unless such person is duly licensed or |
