  1                      A bill to be entitled

  2         An act relating to the Department of Citrus;

  3         amending s. 601.09, F.S.; revising and

  4         reorganizing the citrus districts of the state;

  5         establishing four such districts; specifying

  6         the counties within each district; providing an

  7         effective date.

  9  Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida:

10  

11         Section 1.  Section 601.09, Florida Statutes, is

12  amended to read:

13         (Substantial rewording of section. See

14         s. 601.09, F.S., for present text.)

15         601.09  Citrus districts.--For purposes of this

16  chapter, the state is divided into four districts composed of

17  the following counties:

18         (1)  Citrus District One: Levy, Alachua, Putnam, St.

19  Johns, Flagler, Marion, Citrus, Sumter, Lake, Seminole,

20  Orange, Hernando, Pasco, Pinellas, Hillsborough, Polk, and

21  Osceola Counties.

22         (2)  Citrus District Two: Manatee, Hardee, DeSoto,

23  Sarasota, Charlotte, Lee, Collier, and Monroe Counties.

24         (3)  Citrus District Three: Volusia, Brevard, Indian

25  River, St. Lucie, Martin, Palm Beach, Broward, and Miami-Dade

26  Counties.

27         (4)  Citrus District Four: Highlands, Okeechobee,

28  Glades, and Hendry Counties.

29         Section 2.  This act shall take effect July 1, 2005.
