  1                      A bill to be entitled

  2         An act relating to reimbursement for lung

  3         transplant services for Medicaid recipients;

  4         amending s. 409.9062, F.S.; requiring the

  5         Agency for Health Care Administration to

  6         reimburse lung transplant facilities a global

  7         fee for services provided to Medicaid

  8         recipients; providing an effective date.

10  Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida:

11  

12         Section 1.  Section 409.9062, Florida Statutes, is

13  amended to read:

14         409.9062  Lung transplant services for Medicaid

15  recipients.--Subject to the availability of funds and subject

16  to any limitations or directions provided for in the General

17  Appropriations Act or chapter 216, the Agency for Health Care

18  Administration Medicaid program shall pay for medically

19  necessary lung transplant services for Medicaid recipients.

20  These payments must be used to reimburse approved lung

21  transplant facilities a global fee for providing lung

22  transplant services to Medicaid recipients.

23         Section 2.  This act shall take effect upon becoming a

24  law.

27                          SENATE SUMMARY

28    Requires the Agency for Health Care Administration to
      reimburse qualified medical facilities that perform lung
29    transplants a global fee for services provided to
      Medicaid patients.
