  1                      A bill to be entitled

  2         An act relating to requirements for high school

  3         graduation; amending s. 1003.43, F.S.;

  4         providing that a student who is unable to earn

  5         passing scores on the Florida Comprehensive

  6         Assessment Test or its equivalent must be

  7         allowed to participate in graduation

  8         ceremonies; providing an effective date.

10  Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida:

11  

12         Section 1.  Paragraph (c) is added to subsection (10)

13  of section 1003.43, Florida Statutes, to read:

14         1003.43  General requirements for high school

15  graduation.--

16         (10)

17         (c)  A student who completes the minimum number of

18  credits and other requirements prescribed by subsections (1)

19  and (4), but who is unable to meet the standards of paragraph

20  (5)(a), shall be allowed to participate in graduation

21  ceremonies.

22         Section 2.  This act shall take effect upon becoming a

23  law.

26                          SENATE SUMMARY

27    Provides that a student who is unable to earn passing
      scores on the Florida Comprehensive Assessment Test or
28    its equivalent must nevertheless be allowed to
      participate in graduation ceremonies.
