11  The Committee on Banking and Insurance (Baker) recommended the
12  following amendment to amendment (170360):

14         Senate Amendment 
15         On page 2, line 25,after the period
16  
17  insert:  Nothing in this subsection shall require an insurer
18  to reimburse a certified surgical first assistant or the
19  employer of a surgical first assistant if payment to the
20  physician, osteopathic physician, or licensed healthcare
21  facility includes the payment of a surgical first assistant.
22  The physician to whom the certified surgical assistant is
23  directly accountable shall be solely responsible for any acts
24  or omissions of the certified surgical first assitant.
