  1                      A bill to be entitled

  2         An act relating to Veterans' Day; requiring

  3         school districts to observe Veterans' Day;

  4         prohibiting holding classes on that day;

  5         providing an exception; providing an effective

  6         date.

  8  Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida:

  9  

10         Section 1.  Each school district must observe November

11  11 of each year as the Veterans' Day holiday. Classes may not

12  be held on such holiday for any reason except for a declared

13  state emergency.

14         Section 2.  This act shall take effect July 1, 2005.

19  The CS allows school districts to convene classes on Veterans'
    Day to make-up school days cancelled as a result of declared
20  emergencies.
