  1                      A bill to be entitled

  2         An act relating to alarm system contracting;

  3         amending s. 633.702, F.S.; providing a criminal

  4         penalty for intentionally or willfully

  5         installing, servicing, testing, repairing,

  6         improving, or inspecting a fire alarm system

  7         without being in compliance with s. 489.5185,

  8         F.S., relating to licensure requirements for

  9         fire alarm system agents; providing an

10         effective date.

12  Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida:

13  

14         Section 1.  Subsection (4) is added to section 633.702,

15  Florida Statutes, to read:

16         633.702  Prohibited acts regarding alarm system

17  contractors or certified unlimited electrical contractors;

18  penalties.--

19         (4)  It is a misdemeanor of the first degree,

20  punishable as provided in s. 775.082 or s. 775.083, for any

21  person to intentionally or willfully install, service, test,

22  repair, improve, or inspect a fire alarm system without being

23  in compliance with s. 489.5185.

24         Section 2.  This act shall take effect October 1, 2005.

27                          SENATE SUMMARY

28    Provides that it is a first-degree misdemeanor to
      intentionally or willfully install, service, test,
29    repair, improve, or inspect a fire alarm system without
      being in compliance with the requirements for fire alarm
30    system agents in s. 489.5185, F.S.
