9"D," Class "M," and Class "MB" licensees are authorized to
10carry; eliminating authority of specified Class "C"
11licensees to carry certain semiautomatic pistols while
12performing security-related services; providing an
13effective date.

15Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida:
16
17     Section 1.  Subsection (6) of section 493.6115, Florida
18Statutes, is amended to read:
19     493.6115  Weapons and firearms.--
20     (6)  Unless otherwise approved by the department, the only
21firearm a Class "CC," Class "D," Class "M," or Class "MB"
22licensee who has been issued a Class "G" license may carry is a
23.38 or .357 caliber revolver with factory .38 caliber ammunition
24only. In addition to any other firearm approved by the
25department, a Class "C," Class "D," Class "M," Class "MB," or
26Class "MA" licensee who has been issued a Class "G" license may
27carry a .38 caliber revolver; or a .380 caliber or 9 millimeter
28semiautomatic pistol; or a .357 caliber revolver with .38
29caliber ammunition only. A Class "C" licensee who also holds a
30Class "D" license, and who has been issued a Class "G" license,
31may carry a 9 millimeter semiautomatic pistol while performing
32security-related services. No licensee may carry more than two
33firearms upon her or his person when performing her or his
34duties. A licensee may only carry a firearm of the specific type
35and caliber with which she or he is qualified pursuant to the
36firearms training referenced in subsection (8) or s.
37493.6113(3)(b).
38     Section 2.  This act shall take effect July 1, 2005.
