1 A bill to be entitled
2 An act relating to paperwork reduction in the
3 school districts; requiring the establishment
4 of the Paper Reduction Task Force and providing
5 membership; requiring recommendations to
6 minimize the paperwork burden placed on school
7 districts and school district personnel;
8 requiring a report to the Legislature;
9 providing an effective date.

11 Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida:

13 Section 1. Paper Reduction Task Force.--
14 (1) The Paper Reduction Task Force shall be
15 established for the purpose of recommending strategies to
16 reduce the paperwork required of school districts and school
17 district personnel, with special emphasis given to the
18 reduction of paperwork required of teachers. Recommendations
19 shall include, but not be limited to, methods to improve
20 efficiency by eliminating, reducing, revising, or
21 consolidating paperwork and data collection requirements. The
22 task force shall recommend methods to minimize the paperwork
23 burden being placed on school districts and school district
24 personnel by evaluating the need for information and
25 determining whether access to necessary information is already
26 available.
27 (2) The task force shall consist of the Commissioner
28 of Education, three members appointed by the President of the
29 Senate, three members appointed by the Speaker of the House of
30 Representatives, three members appointed by the Governor, and
31 three teachers appointed by the Commissioner of Education.

1 (3) The task force shall report its findings and
2 recommendations to the President of the Senate and the Speaker
3 of the House of Representatives by February 1, 2006.
4 Section 2. This act shall take effect upon becoming a
5 law.
