11  Senator Constantine moved the following amendment:

13         Senate Amendment (with title amendment) 
14         Between lines 31 and 32,
15  
16  insert:  
17         Section 2.  Notwithstanding subsection (3) of section
18  109 of chapter 2000-141, Laws of Florida, for areas of the
19  state which are not within the high-velocity hurricane zone,
20  the Florida Building Commission, upon updating the Florida
21  Building Code, shall adopt, under section 553.73, Florida
22  Statutes, the most current edition of the wind-protection
23  requirements of the American Society of Civil Engineers,
24  Standard 7, as implemented by the International Building Code.
25  This section is intended to explicitly supersede only the
26  first sentence of subsection (3) of section 109 of chapter
27  2000-141, Laws of Florida.
