| 7 | WHEREAS, on August 10, 2004, the PONY Baseball All-Stars |
| 8 | defeated Puerto Rico with a score of 11 to 2 to win the Colt |
| 9 | World Series in Lafayette, Indiana, and |
| 10 | WHEREAS, this victory was the All-Stars' second straight |
| 11 | Colt World Series championship and was marked by a 10-game |
| 12 | winning streak in the series, and |
| 13 | WHEREAS, 11 days later, on August 21, the Palma |
| 14 | Ceia/Bayshore Junior League team won the Junior League World |
| 15 | Series championship, defeating Venezuela by a score of 5 to 2 in |
| 16 | Taylor, Michigan, and |
| 17 | WHEREAS, the Palma Ceia/Bayshore team broke the series |
| 18 | record for home runs, and it was the third Florida team in |
| 19 | history to win the Junior League World Series, and |
| 20 | WHEREAS, the talent and determination of these two teams |
| 21 | are a credit to their coaches and bring great honor to the Tampa |
| 22 | Bay area and the State of Florida, NOW, THEREFORE, |

| 24 | Be It Resolved by the House of Representatives of the State of |

| 27 | That the PONY Baseball All-Stars and the Palma |
| 28 | Ceia/Bayshore Junior League All-Stars are congratulated and |
| 29 | commended on their hard work and great success in world |
| 30 | competition, creating inspiring examples for the youth of our |
| 31 | state, and bringing credit to the Tampa Bay area and the State |
| 32 | of Florida. |
| 33 | BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this resolution be |
| 34 | presented to the PONY Baseball All-Stars and the Palma |
| 35 | Ceia/Bayshore Junior League All-Stars as a tangible token of the |
| 36 | sentiments expressed herein. |
