| 5 | WHEREAS, Donald Gregory "Donn" Dughi, born in New Hampshire |
| 6 | on July 9, 1932, was a valued resident of Florida from 1935 |
| 7 | until his death during a surgical procedure on April 6, 2005, |
| 8 | and |
| 9 | WHEREAS, following graduation from high school in 1951, |
| 10 | Donn served a stint in the United States Marine Corps during the |
| 11 | Korean War, after which he earned an associate of arts degree |
| 12 | from St. Petersburg Junior College and a Bachelor of Arts degree |
| 13 | in English from Florida State University, and |
| 14 | WHEREAS, Donn covered events in state government as a |
| 15 | photographer for 42 years, starting in 1963 as a cameraman for |
| 16 | WCTV Tallahassee, then as a photographer for United Press |
| 17 | International and the Associated Press, and, since June 30, |
| 18 | 1992, as an employee of the Florida House of Representatives, |
| 19 | and |
| 20 | WHEREAS, Donn's work has been displayed in Florida, across |
| 21 | the United States, and throughout the world in newspapers, in |
| 22 | nationally recognized magazines, and in the halls of the Florida |
| 23 | House of Representatives, and, on a more personal level, he has |
| 24 | provided many photographic memories for Members and staff of the |
| 25 | House and their families, and |
| 26 | WHEREAS, over the years, Donn mentored numerous young |
| 27 | photographers, sharing his experience, offering instruction, and |
| 28 | helping some get academic scholarships and others find |
| 29 | employment while they learned their craft, and |
| 30 | WHEREAS, Donn is survived by two daughters, Leslie and |
| 31 | Laurie, and by countless others in and around state government |
| 32 | whose lives he has touched with his special talents and his |
| 33 | friendship, NOW, THEREFORE, |

| 35 | Be It Resolved by the House of Representatives of the State of |
| 36 | Florida: |

| 38 | That the Members of the House of Representatives recall |
| 39 | with great fondness and warmth the life of Donald Gregory "Donn" |
| 40 | Dughi, deeply mourn his untimely passing, and extend sincere |
| 41 | condolences to his daughters, Leslie and Laurie. |
| 42 | BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this resolution be |
| 43 | presented to both Leslie Dughi and Laurie Dughi as a tangible |
| 44 | token of the sentiments expressed herein. |
