2A resolution honoring the memory of Donald Gregory "Donn"
3Dughi.

5     WHEREAS, Donald Gregory "Donn" Dughi, born in New Hampshire
6on July 9, 1932, was a valued resident of Florida from 1935
7until his death during a surgical procedure on April 6, 2005,
8and
9     WHEREAS, following graduation from high school in 1951,
10Donn served a stint in the United States Marine Corps during the
11Korean War, after which he earned an associate of arts degree
12from St. Petersburg Junior College and a Bachelor of Arts degree
13in English from Florida State University, and
14     WHEREAS, Donn covered events in state government as a
15photographer for 42 years, starting in 1963 as a cameraman for
16WCTV Tallahassee, then as a photographer for United Press
17International and the Associated Press, and, since June 30,
181992, as an employee of the Florida House of Representatives,
19and
20     WHEREAS, Donn's work has been displayed in Florida, across
21the United States, and throughout the world in newspapers, in
22nationally recognized magazines, and in the halls of the Florida
23House of Representatives, and, on a more personal level, he has
24provided many photographic memories for Members and staff of the
25House and their families, and
26     WHEREAS, over the years, Donn mentored numerous young
27photographers, sharing his experience, offering instruction, and
28helping some get academic scholarships and others find
29employment while they learned their craft, and
30     WHEREAS, Donn is survived by two daughters, Leslie and
31Laurie, and by countless others in and around state government
32whose lives he has touched with his special talents and his
33friendship, NOW, THEREFORE,

35Be It Resolved by the House of Representatives of the State of
36Florida:

38     That the Members of the House of Representatives recall
39with great fondness and warmth the life of Donald Gregory "Donn"
40Dughi, deeply mourn his untimely passing, and extend sincere
41condolences to his daughters, Leslie and Laurie.
42     BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this resolution be
43presented to both Leslie Dughi and Laurie Dughi as a tangible
44token of the sentiments expressed herein.
