2A resolution recognizing April 21, 2005, as "Jacksonville
3Day" in Tallahassee.

5     WHEREAS, the Jacksonville Metropolitan Area now has a
6population of over 1 million, making it the largest city in the
7State of Florida, and
8     WHEREAS, Jacksonville has had 36 years of success with its
9consolidated City/County Government, and
10     WHEREAS, Jacksonville has a major United States Navy and
11United States Marine presence at Naval Air Station Mayport,
12Naval Air Station Jacksonville, and Blount Island United States
13Marine Installation, and
14     WHEREAS, Jacksonville is the home of the National Football
15League Jacksonville Jaguars, and
16     WHEREAS, Super Bowl XXXIX was held in Jacksonville in
17February 2005, and
18     WHEREAS, Florida's First Coast is the home of the
19Professional Golfers' Association Tour and the Association of
20Tennis Professionals, and
21     WHEREAS, Jacksonville has outstanding natural resources,
22including the Timucuan National Preserve, the St. Johns River,
23and miles of coastline, and
24     WHEREAS, Jacksonville is a leading city in the insurance
25and health care markets and is one of the largest vehicle
26import-export centers on the East Coast, and
27     WHEREAS, Jacksonville is home to one of the nation's
28fastest growing airports, NOW, THEREFORE,

30Be It Resolved by the House of Representatives of the State of
31Florida;

33     That April 21, 2005, be recognized as "Jacksonville Day" in
34Tallahassee.
