2 | A resolution recognizing Joshua Miller, a recipient of the |
3 | 2005 Prudential Spirit of Community Award. |

5 | WHEREAS, Joshua Miller, an esteemed resident of Parkland |
6 | and student at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School, has |
7 | received national recognition as a 2005 recipient of the |
8 | prestigious Prudential Spirit of Community Award, and |
9 | WHEREAS, presented by Prudential Financial in partnership |
10 | with the National Association of Secondary School Principals, |
11 | this award honors young volunteers across the nation who have |
12 | demonstrated an extraordinary commitment to service in their |
13 | communities, and |
14 | WHEREAS, giving generously of his time, Mr. Miller |
15 | developed a reading and mentoring after-school program for third |
16 | graders and recruited 45 high school students to participate in |
17 | this highly successful effort that was made possible through |
18 | funding received from Governor Jeb Bush, and |
19 | WHEREAS, the strength of our communities, the success of |
20 | the State of Florida, and the overall vitality of American |
21 | society depend in great measure upon the dedication of young |
22 | people like Mr. Miller who use their considerable talents and |
23 | resources to serve others, NOW, THEREFORE, |

25 | Be It Resolved by the House of Representatives of the State of |

28 | That the House of Representatives congratulates and honors |
29 | Joshua Miller as a worthy recipient of a prestigious Prudential |
30 | Spirit of Community Award for 2005, recognizes his outstanding |
31 | record of volunteer service, community spirit, and peer |
32 | leadership, and extends its best wishes for his continued |
33 | success and happiness. |
34 | BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this resolution be |
35 | presented to Joshua Miller, recipient of a 2005 Prudential |
36 | Spirit of Community Award, as a tangible token of the sentiments |
37 | expressed herein. |
