| 2 | A resolution commending Lexington Homes, Inc. |

| 4 | WHEREAS, not only known throughout the Gulf Coast and |
| 5 | Central Florida as one of the state's premier homebuilders, |
| 6 | Lexington Homes, Inc., is gaining national recognition for its |
| 7 | charitable community efforts made under the banner "Lexington's |
| 8 | Legacy of Leadership," and |
| 9 | WHEREAS, enlisting the aid of other members of the building |
| 10 | industry, Lexington Homes led in the construction of "Hunter's |
| 11 | House," which resulted in a sizable contribution to a local |
| 12 | child's organ transplant fund, and |
| 13 | WHEREAS, in partnership with "ABC's Extreme Makeover: Home |
| 14 | Edition," and with the generous support of numerous businesses, |
| 15 | Lexington remodeled the home of a husband and father blinded by |
| 16 | a deranged gunman, not only affording the family spacious, |
| 17 | energy-efficient, cost-saving living quarters, including a solar |
| 18 | water heater contributed by Solar Source, TCT Solar, Healey and |
| 19 | Associates, and Engineering Sunbuilt Program, but also providing |
| 20 | "Lexie," a companion and guide dog, and |
| 21 | WHEREAS, since the completion of its first two projects, |
| 22 | Lexington has arranged for "One More Makeover: Lexington |
| 23 | Edition," in which businesses have provided an apartment, |
| 24 | furniture, television and computer, and cable and internet |
| 25 | service for two children of a crime victim and, as proven |
| 26 | typical of the heart of the community, has received overwhelming |
| 27 | support for a scholarship fund in the name of a young victim who |
| 28 | was saving for college, and |
| 29 | WHEREAS, to date, Lexington has coordinated the gracious |
| 30 | efforts of 145 companies and 1,100 volunteers in four endeavors |
| 31 | to help meet the needs of members of the community, NOW, |
| 32 | THEREFORE, |

| 34 | Be It Resolved by the House of Representatives of the State of |
| 35 | Florida: |

| 37 | That Lexington Homes, Inc., its many willing partners in |
| 38 | business, and thousands of skilled Floridians are commended for |
| 39 | the outpouring of their means, talents, and time in their |
| 40 | cooperative efforts to help neighbors in need and are cited as |
| 41 | examples all Americans would do well to emulate. |
| 42 | BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this resolution be |
| 43 | presented to Dan Bicz of Lexington Homes, Inc., as a tangible |
| 44 | token of the sentiments expressed herein. |
