11 Senator Rich moved the following amendment:

13 Senate Amendment (with title amendment)
14 Delete everything after the enacting clause

16 and insert:
17 Section 1. Section 316.1303, Florida Statutes, is
18 amended to read:
19 316.1303 Traffic regulations to assist
20 mobility-impaired persons.--Whenever a pedestrian is in the
21 process of crossing a public street or highway and the
22 pedestrian is mobility-impaired (using a guide dog or service
23 animal designated as such with a visible means of
24 identification, a walker, a crutch, an orthopedic cane, or a
25 wheelchair), the driver of every vehicle approaching the
26 intersection, as defined in s. 316.003(17), shall bring his or
27 her vehicle to a full stop before arriving at such
28 intersection and, before proceeding, shall take such
29 precautions as may be necessary to avoid injuring such
30 pedestrian. A person who is convicted of a violation of this
31 section shall be punished as provided in s. 318.18(3).

10 An act relating to traffic regulations;
11 amending s. 316.1303, F.S.; requiring vehicle
12 operators to stop and yield to
13 mobility-impaired pedestrians who are assisted
14 by guide dogs or other service animals;
15 providing a penalty; providing an effective
16 date.
