11  The Committee on Health Care (Saunders) recommended the
12  following amendment to amendment (513244):

14         Senate Amendment 
15         On page 3, lines 12 through 22, delete those lines
16  
17  and insert:  
18         (i)  "Privacy restrictions imposed by federal law"
19  means the provisions relating to the disclosure of patient
20  privacy information under federal law, including, but not
21  limited to, the Health Insurance Portability and
22  Accountability Act of 1996 (HIPAA), Public Law 104-91, and its
23  implementing regulations, the Federal Privacy Act, 5 U.S.C. s.
24  552(a), and its implementing regulations, and any other
25  federal law, including, but not limited to, federal common law
26  and decisional law, that would prohibit the disclosure of
27  patient privacy information.
