1 A bill to be entitled
2 An act relating to judges; amending s. 26.031,
3 F.S.; revising the number of circuit court
4 judges in the 20th judicial circuit; amending
5 s. 34.022, F.S.; revising the number of county
6 court judges in Collier County; providing for
7 the additional judges provided under the act to
8 be appointed by the Governor; providing an
9 appropriation and authorizing positions;
10 providing effective dates.

12 Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida:

14 Section 1. Effective January 1, 2006, section 26.031,
15 Florida Statutes, as amended by section 2 of chapter 2005-150,
16 Laws of Florida, is amended to read:
17 26.031 Judicial circuits; number of judges.--The
18 number of circuit judges in each circuit shall be as follows:

23 Section 3. The judges filling new offices created by
24 this act shall be appointed by the Governor.
25 Section 4. The sums of $517,568 in recurring funds and
26 $20,214 in nonrecurring funds are appropriated from the
27 General Revenue Fund to the circuit and county courts for the
28 2005-2006 fiscal year, and 9 full-time positions are
29 authorized.
30 Section 5. Except as otherwise expressly provided in
31 this act, this act shall take effect upon becoming a law.
