3     Amendment (with title amendment)
4     Between line(s) 1540 and 1541, insert:
5     Section 11.  Medical care advisory committee.--
6     (1)  The Secretary of the Agency for Health Care
7Administration shall appoint a medical care advisory committee
8to advise the agency about the Florida Medicaid program,
9consistent with the requirements of federal law.
10     (2)  There shall be no less than 15 and no more than 23
11members on the committee with at least 51 percent of the
12membership consisting of current or former Medicaid recipients
13or their parents or guardians or Medicaid advocates, including
14representatives of special needs populations. The members of the
15advisory committee shall serve without compensation, but shall
16receive reimbursement for per diem and travel expenses incurred
17in connection with committee meeting attendance in accordance
18with s. 112.061, Florida Statutes.
19     (3)  The committee shall meet not less than quarterly and
20committee members shall be furnished written notice of the
21meetings at least 10 days before the date of the meeting.
22     (4)  The medical care advisory committee shall be given an
23opportunity to participate in Medicaid policy development,
24advise on program administration, and review and comment upon
25proposed new initiatives pertaining to health care benefits and
26beneficiary eligibility, including, but not limited to, 1115
27Medicaid Waiver proposals and programs.
