11 The Committee on Regulated Industries (Geller) recommended the
12 following amendment:

14 Senate Amendment (with title amendment)
15 On page 41, between lines 16 and 17,
16
17 insert:
18 Section 4. An annual fee of $500 per slot machine is
19 imposed upon each slot machine approved for use at any
20 eligible facility as defined in s. 551.102, Florida Statutes,
21 which is within 2 miles of any neighboring municipality. A
22 "neighboring municipality" is defined as a municipality that
23 does not have an eligible facility but has more than two
24 facilities located within 2 miles of its municipal borders.
25 Revenue from the fees imposed by this section must be used by
26 the neighboring municipality to fund the adverse public
27 health, safety, and welfare and public works and traffic
28 impacts that will be caused by the implementation of Section
29 23, Article X of the State Constitution and that will occur as
30 a direct result of slot machine operations. The annual fee
31 must be remitted to the Division of Pari-mutuel Wagering to be

1 deposited into the Pari-mutuel Wagering Trust Fund and
2 distributed by the division to any neighboring municipality.
3 The fee must be remitted by February 1 of each year based on
4 the number of slot machines approved by the division as of
5 January 1.

12 On page 2, line 14, after the semicolon,

14 insert:
15 imposing an annual fee on certain slot
16 machines; defining the term "neighboring
17 municipality"; providing for the use of the
18 revenue generated by the collection of the
19 annual fee; providing that the annual fee must
20 be remitted to the division to be deposited
21 into the Pari-mutuel Wagering Trust Fund and
22 distributed by the division;
