11  The Committee on Ways and Means (King) recommended the
12  following amendment:

14         Senate Amendment 
15         On page 6, between lines 7 and 8,
16  
17  insert:  
18         (c)  Procedures to scientifically test and technically
19  evaluate slot machines for compliance with this chapter.  The
20  division may contract with an independent testing laboratory
21  to conduct any necessary testing under this section.  The
22  independent testing laboratory must have a national reputation
23  which is demonstrably competent and qualified to
24  scientifically test and evaluate slot machines for compliance
25  with this chapter and to otherwise perform the functions
26  assigned to it in this chapter.  An independent testing
27  laboratory shall not be owned or controlled by a licensee.
28  The use of an independent testing laboratory for any purpose
29  related to the conduct of slot machine gaming by a licensee
30  under this chapter shall be made from a list of one or more
31  laboratories approved by the division.
