17 551.1045 Temporary licenses.--
18 (1)(a) If, within 180 days after the effective date of
19 this act, the division has not adopted rules to implement the
20 provisions of this chapter, the division shall issue a
21 temporary slot machine license to an applicant, if the
22 applicant holds a valid pari-mutuel permit in good standing
23 under ch. 550, the applicant's ownership interests have been
24 previously approved as provided in ch. 550, and the applicant
25 has conducted live racing or games during the calendar years
26 2002 and 2003. The slot machine license will permit the
27 licensee to conduct slot machine gaming in the designated slot
28 machine gaming areas of the eligible facility.
29 (b) The temporary license is valid until the division
30 has adopted rules implementing the provisions of this chapter.

1 provisions of this chapter, it shall complete review of any
2 filed application and shall issue a license under s. 551.104,
3 if the licensee meets the requirements of this chapter and
4 rules adopted by the division.
5 (2)(a) A manufacturer or distributor of slot machines
6 who has applied for a license under s. 551.07, shall be issued
7 a temporary business occupational license if it holds a valid
8 license to manufacture or distribute slot machines in a state
9 where gaming is lawful.
10 (b) The temporary license is valid until the division
11 has adopted rules implementing the provisions of this chapter.
12 Once the division has adopted rules implementing the
13 provisions of this chapter, it shall complete review of any
14 filed application and shall issue a license under s. 551.107,
15 if the licensee meets the requirements of this chapter and
16 rules adopted by the division.
17 (3) A temporary license issued under this section is
18 nontransferable. Any temporary license issued under this
19 section shall be valid during the pendency of any challenge to
20 the rules.
