A bill to be entitled
2An act relating to judges; amending s. 26.031, F.S.;
3revising the number of circuit court judges in the 20th
4judicial circuit; amending s. 34.022, F.S.; revising the
5number of county court judges in Collier County; providing
6for the additional judges provided under the act to be
7appointed by the Governor; providing an appropriation and
8authorizing positions and approved salary rate; providing
9effective dates.

11Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida:

13     Section 1.  Effective January 2, 2006, section 26.031,
14Florida Statutes, as amended by section 2 of chapter 2005-150,
15Laws of Florida, is amended to read:
16     26.031  Judicial circuits; number of judges.--The number of
17circuit judges in each circuit shall be as follows:

117     Section 3.  The judges filling new offices created by this
118act shall be appointed by the Governor.
119     Section 4.  The sums of $616,776 in recurring funds and
120$26,596 in nonrecurring funds are appropriated from the General
121Revenue Fund to the circuit and county courts for the 2005-2006
122fiscal year, and 11 full-time positions and 877,168 in approved
123salary rate are authorized.
124     Section 5.  Except as otherwise expressly provided in this
125act, this act shall take effect upon becoming a law.
