A bill to be entitled
2An act relating to judges; amending s. 26.031, F.S.;
3revising the number of circuit court judges in the
4Twentieth Judicial Circuit; amending s. 34.022, F.S.;
5revising the number of county court judges in Collier
6County; providing for the additional judges provided under
7the act to be appointed by the Governor; providing
8appropriations and authorizing positions and approved
9salary rates; providing effective dates.

11Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida:
12
13     Section 1.  Effective January 2, 2006, section 26.031,
14Florida Statutes, as amended by section 2 of chapter 2005-150,
15Laws of Florida, is amended to read:
16     26.031  Judicial circuits; number of judges.--The number of
17circuit judges in each circuit shall be as follows:

115     Section 3.  The judges filling new offices created by this
116act shall be appointed by the Governor.
117     Section 4.  The sums of $517,568 in recurring funds and
118$20,214 in nonrecurring funds are appropriated from the General
119Revenue Fund to the circuit and county courts for the 2005-2006
120fiscal year, and 9 full-time equivalent positions and 705,157 in
121approved salary rate are authorized. The sum of $41,846 in
122recurring funds is appropriated from the General Revenue Fund to
123the Office of the State Attorney 20th Circuit for the 2005-2006
124fiscal year, and 2 full-time equivalent positions and 58,791 in
125approved salary rate are authorized.
126     Section 5.  Except as otherwise expressly provided in this
127act, this act shall take effect upon becoming a law.
