1 A bill to be entitled
2 An act relating to the state minimum wage;
3 creating s. 448.111, F.S.; providing that the
4 provisions of s. 24, Art. X of the State
5 Constitution do not exclude an employer from
6 applying for or operating under a special
7 certificate as provided for by the Fair Labor
8 Standards Act; providing an effective date.

10 Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida:

12 Section 1. Section 448.111, Florida Statues, is
13 created to read:
14 448.111 State minimum wage; special
15 certificate.--Notwithstanding the requirements imposed by s.
16 24, Art. X of the State Constitution, nothing in this part
17 shall be deemed to abridge the right of an employer to apply
18 for, or operate under, a special certificate awarded by the
19 Secretary of Labor in accordance with 29 U.S.C. s. 214(c), the
20 provisions of which are incorporated in this section.
21 Section 2. This act shall take effect upon becoming a
22 law.
