A bill to be entitled
2An act relating to temporary child care assistance;
3providing an appropriation to provide temporary child care
4assistance to enable certain citizens of this state
5affected by Hurricane Wilma to return to work; providing a
6limit for such assistance; providing an effective date.

8Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida:

10     Section 1.  The sum of $5 million is appropriated from the
11General Revenue Fund to Workforce Florida, Inc., for the 2005-
122006 fiscal year to provide temporary child care assistance to
13enable citizens of this state who became unemployed as a result
14of Hurricane Wilma to return to work. A citizen of this state
15who became unemployed as a result of Hurricane Wilma and whose
16income does not exceed 200 percent of the federal poverty level
17is eligible to receive an amount not to exceed $200 per week for
18up to 12 weeks for temporary child care assistance from the
19funds appropriated in this section. Assistance provided under
20this section shall be limited to an amount that, together with
21all other child care benefits received by the applicant from any
22government entity or private sector source other than a family
23member, does not exceed the limit established in this section.
24     Section 2.  This act shall take effect upon becoming a law.
