  1                      A bill to be entitled

  2         An act relating to hurricane relief; providing

  3         an appropriation for no-interest loans to

  4         assist local governments and school districts

  5         affected by a natural disaster resulting in a

  6         declaration of a state of emergency; providing

  7         for administration and use of such loans;

  8         providing an effective date.

10  Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida:

11  

12         Section 1.  (1)  There is appropriated from the General

13  Revenue Fund to the Emergency Management, Preparedness, and

14  Assistance Trust Fund for the 2005-2006 fiscal year a sum

15  sufficient to be distributed to local governments and school

16  districts affected by a natural disaster resulting in a

17  declaration of a state of emergency for no-interest loans to

18  be used for any of the following:

19         (a)  Paying personnel;

20         (b)  Debris removal;

21         (c)  Emergency food and shelter; or

22         (d)  Other relief that will be reimbursed by the

23  Federal Emergency Management Agency.

24         (2)  Such loans shall be administered pursuant to s.

25  252.373, Florida Statutes.

26         Section 2.  This act shall take effect upon becoming a

27  law.
